I have been building electric guitars for several years now, and tearout from routing perimeter curves has plagued me for years. The amount of extra caution needed to route properly with a straight flute bit was a hassle. With the use of these Spiral Upcut bits, a router table, and template, I am able to route 1 3/4" guitar bodies and 1" thick rock maple effortlessly. The time saving, and smooth cut makes the expense of these bits neglible. Every luthier should try one.
